Atlanta, GA (October 26, 2010) - It is with great honor that Marchman, Kasraie and Fodor announces that Ambassador E. L. McCord has appointed Managing Partner Dr. Bijan Kasraie Deputy Ambassador of Moldova.

Following the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the United States recognized the independence of Moldova on December 25, 1991, and opened an Embassy in its capital, Chisinau, in March 1992. The U.S. and Moldova shared interests include: the development of democracy, market economics, and cooperation in regional defense. As evidence in support of these interests, the countries signed a new $262 million, 5-year Millennium Challenge Corporation Compact for economic development and investment projects in irrigation infrastructure, high-value agricultural production, and road rehabilitation.

In his capacity as Deputy Ambassador, Dr. Kasraie will use his influence and experience to foster the development of trade and business between the United States and Moldova including, for example, importing Moldova's notable products, such as fine wine and unique food items, as well as manufactured materials.

Dr. Kasraie has well over 30 years of legal and executive business experience in several industries, including banking, finance, energy, real estate, manufacturing, recycling, IT, and pharmaceuticals. He has resolved legal, financial, corporate and political issues in England, France, Germany, Switzerland, Finland, Netherlands, Italy, Russia, Romania, Turkey, Poland, Georgia, Egypt, Morocco, Kuwait, UAE, India, Pakistan, Peoples' Republic of China, Taiwan, Mexico, Brazil, Bolivia, and Canada. He holds degrees in law, engineering, and finance. He is also a financial and economic advisor to the City Governments of Peoples Republic of China.

He is looking forward to this opportunity to acquaint people with Moldova and contribute to building its businesses and trade with the United States.
